Let’s Play what is your earlierst Human memory…Here’s mine.

I remember moving into our new house and there were curtains hanging over the front living room windows when we walked in.  My mom opened them up to let in more light into the room and two bats came flying out…it scared the shit out of my mom…but I thought it was the coolest thing…I was about four or five years old.

So fellow followers or readers of my great blog what is YOUR earliest memory. Please please please let me peak into your mind just a little….:)

Thanks

  1. I think what’s awesome about “early memories,” especially in my case, is that there’s a period of time in the past that I’m not 100% sure if I actually remember for myself, that I remember only because of the mentioning by my family members, or that I think I remember but really only know about because of family stories. That aside, my earliest “memory” is of playing at my grandmother’s house on long island. She had a property that to 4-year-old me seemed infinite, a TV that seemed like it could’ve been taken from a movie theatre, and hundreds and hundreds of cats.

    1. Great Memory! Thanks for sharing….btw I know what you mean about memories being tricky..Did I remember this really or did someone supplant this “fake” memory in my mind because they told me about the experience alot ..the brain is a funny a thing…as vast as the universe and just as mysteriours..:) Philip

  2. My earliest memory (hopefully real…or IS IT!?) is from when I was three and had just moved to the house that I would grow up in…My Grandmother had bought it as a fixer-upper and it needed a LOT of work…One of it’s charming foibles was the fact that it had wall-to-wall cobalt blue shag carpeting. I remember it vividly because I thought the floor of our new house was the surface of the Moon (or “Mooom” as I my Mom relates it)…I played within its “craters” for as long as I could until they replaced it with boring, regular old wood. :^0 Jamy

    1. Thanks Jamy for that memory…I’m collector of memories you might say….so you never know some these may just end up in future story one day..:) . I love image of the carpet being called the moon….thanks Philip

  3. Mine is from when I was probably 3 or 4. My mother had rose bushes near the house and I used to go out and smell every single rose on those bushes (of which there were prob ten of).
So of course the first thing I wanted to do when I moved into a house was plant roses. They just
never seem quite as healthy or glorious as those were.

  4. First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or hints? Many thanks!

    1. Your comment ended up in Spam.. with a name like Ps3 Server I have my suspicions you are spam…but I will play along for now and answer your question for the benefit of the doubt…. How do I clear my thoughts before I write..basically I don’t ..I just plunge write in..and personally if you truly are taking 10-15 minutes to collect your thoughts before you write then your probably doing better than most…dont be time counter or a word counter…just create and the rest will take care of itself.. see ya later Spammy
