May the Journey you Take

Let us all embark on an adventure in our lives,
no matter the fog that shrouds our path,
tread with eyes seeing, stalwart in nature,
as we find the lightness in
every rich discovery that
we may be lucky enough to unearth
on our grand journey
in the magical realm
called you.

Ship in a Bottle

ShipBottle

Ship in a Bottle~

A sailing we will go!

A sailing we will go!

But on the currents we shall float

on a ship in a bottle in a big row boat.

The wind cannot touch our sails,

only our faces as we sit,

atop the glass

on a encased little wooden ship.

Our phonograph shall play at the stern

pushing us melodiously along

as we sit on the bow of the

bottle as the clouds pass low.

The little sailor man below, dressed so primly

but with his big straw hat to shade the sun,

shall keep a firm grip on the

tiller to steer our unknown path

to the unknown.

And I and my friend, shall munch

on little sandwiches come lunch

and just enjoy the day

as it passes by,  spying our fancy friends

in their hot air balloons in the distance.

As we sit on our  ship in a bottle in a big row boat.

I trudge – A Poem

I Trudge~
Through snow I trudge
heavy of foot with boots to insulate from the cold that creeps
always its creeps….
lost imprints of foot prints
swirl away to nothingness
as I look back through the raging blizzard
surrounding mesnow
I am not lost
For I am forever moving forward in the night.
towards that one star that peeks.
Wringing frigid calloused hands in gloves
never quite warm up to stave off the cold
I find these tired legs and cold hands
are a badge of honor
through a life sought to beat me down
I’m still standing
still walking
still wringing my cold hands
even they may look worn
they are strong
just as my legs are
which trudge
even though ever losing the imprints
of a past I have earned in sheer exertion
of a spirit that will always burn in me.
