Philip Wardlow is a burgeoning ever growing writer and poet delving into all the various aspects of the human condition. His writing tastes run to the Erotic most recently. In the recent past he has written to the Dark Urban Fantasy & Horror Genre which he still loves as well. He likes to dabble in all the various forms of poetry; from the sexy to the humorous, to the profound and beautifully sentimental and reflective. He has only been at this chosen path for a few of years and has produced one Novella published as an Ebook on Amazon called “Roadkill”. He has submitted and continues to submit various stories and poetry works to publications for consideration. Philip is working on a collection of Erotic Poetry due out in 2021 in ebook form and perhaps in paperback. He is also concurrently working hard on his other passion; photography. Philip believes he can have each foot planted in two distinctly different worlds of creativity there by inciting new ideas and growth at the same time in both.

Cute as a Button –

Cute as a Button ~

She is cute as a button but that button is sewed onto the dark lapels of the devil

She’s a handful, a handful of hurt with a side of outrageousness

spilling over onto the floor and making a hell of a mess

for me to clean up.

Cheeky smiling girl,

Oh, what a monkey you are…

Come down from that fucking tree, you are much

too high and the wind is howling

and the bough is ready to break.

Miss dangerous. A big red light blinking.

But would I take her any other way?

That corner, that question mark, that hill

I want to turn it each time, see the  answer revealed

and the top to be reached.

She’s cute as a wicked  little buttondevil button

could ever be.

Quote of the Day

“I don’t want her perfect in body, nor perfect in mind or her soul. I just want to meander through the wild that is her and have an adventure” by Philip W.

Nothing Spectacular – A poem

Nothing Spectacular~spectacular

She told me she was nothing spectacular
Not special
Hmm..
How could that be.
How Indeed.
For I see nothing but a little beautiful light
Shining
Soooooooooooo brightly
Yet, she takes her little hand
and dims down
down
down
down
Click…til its off.
I don’t mind clicking it back on.
CLICK
but it gets rather tiresome
I fucking need to steal that knob after
I have turned it back on
For she captivates
and draws everyone like a moth
to that little blue electric light
Bzz
Bzz
Ah you killed another one.
but they couldn’t handle your heat
SO
Move on…:)

Art Auction coming up to support the Rhino

billys-checkered-photo

Hello friends, followers,  do-gooders.  I have a favor to ask of you.

Besides being  a part-time writer I also wear another hat.  That of Vice-President of Operations for Fight for Rhinos.  That is  a self-anointed title I had to apply to myself when signing on to the organization but one I take seriously.  Its my wife who does the real back-breaking work in regards to research, blogging,  networking, fundraising,  and brain storming with other conservationist to help the endangered Rhino from going extinct on this planet and NEVER coming back.

Can you believe it, an animal that has been around for 60 Millions years…basically  a living Fossil, may go extinct in less than 20 years all because its horn is valued more than that of gold.

I think its tragic…to me the possible extinction of the Rhino and I don’t say this lightly is a summation of man’s ignorance, apathy, pride  and arrogance  on this planet.

The earth is big,   YES very big.  But so is our egos to think we can’t hurt it irrevocably.

Now this is where my favor comes in.  It’s actually a small favor.

We have organized an Online Art Auction Charity in support of helping out with various on the ground Projects for the Rhino.  I am asking two things of you MY FOLLOWERS….:)

FIRST  –  GO CHECK IT OUT ….!  Its starts June 1st for bidding, but you can check out the pieces right now. Right   HERE .. Some are pretty cool and we still have more pieces from talented artists coming in to add to the collection. Some are high priced and some are low priced but all fairly priced for that artist’s work. There is even a piece of Art done by a Rhino….:)

SECOND – To garner interest in this Art Auction we are doing a Thunderclap campaign which is set to go BOOM on May 28th three days before  June 1st before the auction to enable us to reach almost a million people or more about the event. Basically the Thunderclap works like this.  You go to the site specifically for our event and click one of three social media sites you wish to broadcast our message through to your followers on that particular day. The three outlets are  Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr  or you can do all THREE! (each one counts separately)  thunderclaplogo

We have a  goal of getting 250 people to sign up . RIGHT NOW we are at about 150 people….  We really need those other 100 people to make this work…..SO Please  ( I am now on my knees)  sign on to our THUNDERCLAP…it actually only takes a second to click it  and is completely safe btw regarding security and privacy.

Thank you very much.  I hope you take the time over this long weekend to help us out and the Rhino as well… 🙂

P.S I believe the Rhino is a Unicorn…a fat one but a Unicorn…:)

Beauty defined

Beauty Defined ~

If you were to ask me to define what beauty is, I would first pause in my thinking, lose focus to the world and go inward and remember all the instances that touched….held me…..affected me….or drew me in where I had no choice but to be in that moment with it.

I then would ask you the same question and for you to go inward as well.

Then I would ask you of all the instances you remember and I would tell you of mine. And we would share them.

Then in that instant another beautiful moment would be born.

In a Dark Cave

Philip Wardlow's avatarAin't no rest for the Wicked - Philip Wardlow - The real and the sensual sides to life in all its facets..

In a Dark Cave

I see the unseen

knife twist in your gut.

It slices into me as well,

a pale shadow to yours,

but I feel it just the same.

If I could take it all I would,

to eliminate what you feel.

from sunrise to sunset.

I admire your strength,

I cry at times

I love it so.

Your torments deserve accolades but instead you

just get more of the same pain

day after day.

I wish I could name your enemy,

put form to the intangible,

call out your pain to the floor

and wrestle it into submission.

I dream of being a knight,

riding out to the field to slay the dragon

that breathes its fire into you

from afar.

I would cut off its head and stab it

through its evil heart.

But your pain is hidden,

in a dark cave it dwells deep.

I…

That kind of beauty

That Kind of Beauty ~black-and-white-female

She’s beautiful,

that fun kind of beauty.

The kind of beauty that drags you laughing by her side

Electric, a 9-volt battery to the tongue.

Blonde, brunette, or redhead who cares what fucking color

for she brings them all out in you.

How can you refuse

that kind of pulse

that finds your own.

That sync,

And sweet unsuspecting syncopation

to a spirit you desperately want

to get to know.

That kind of beauty

needs to be explored.

So stop.

Hear her heart

Shut out the noise

Take her hand.

and just let

her be.

If I were to become

star

If I were to become a star

upon my death.

Let me shine bright

just for you.

On those cold winter nights

when the sky is clear

as glass.

Let my

warmth seep  into you.

Feel me across

that dark distance

fill you with a bit

of me.

My energy will

always be bound

to you.

Always.

Roll the Dice

Dice

Roll the Dice ~

Dice,

Falling,

Gravity pulls

I threw them in the air,

now they must land somewhere.

On the table, they do a dance,

Rolling, tumbling, spinning,

so many combinations

could come.

No skill required at the outcome.

But my intent is everything.

For I picked up those dice

from that table

while all the rest just stared,

drink in hand,

in a perpetual daze.

Waiting.

Time slows, stretching out like taffy

pips tease then disappear

to taste a different future

as corners turn and angles

fly in a  latticework of physics,

a mysterious inertial

balancing act.

In favor or against

In favor or against.

Fate, a whim or not?

Fate is a fickle bitch.

But I will get into

bed and roll with her in the sheets

anyway.
