They hide it well – A Poem

People,
they hide it well,
their fears and sorrows
as they lie there in the dark
thinking constantly of them
like a rain of dying leaves,
yet the tree never goes dormant,
leaves always falling
endlessly.
The shower cries a little more with
them in it…
The tissues strewn across the floor
like  bombs gone off in a mind field.
The tension in the eyes, tight
like a highwire act…
Balancing, every balancing.
Survival.
It’s in them..
for the alternative cannot
be looked at.
Life.
It’s a wonderful state of mind
when you truly let it in.
That allowance for the little things
That smile,
That laugh,
A tender moment.
They only come once.
Don’t hide that as
well.

Her – A poem

Her

Her ~

Her nature is fluid

a whisper

a scream

a jest

A consistent wanting

ever disguised.

How to cope with her?

Ha!

Now that is a trick question!

You do not cope.

You do not endure.

You do not wish.

Simply be,

like a kite in the wind

letting your tail be your anchor

as the breeze blows,

keeping you aloft.

Floating upon her currents.

You fly…

higher

and higher.

Never questioning

why

as you  just enjoy the ride.

I could say – A poem

I could say ~
I could say
I have been wrongedBag
ten times over
and it drove me
creeping to the
state I am.
Punches came
Inflicted,
Left, Right, from you
from her, him,
from within.
I could say that…
But I knew.
I saw all the punches
coming,
and I just stood there.
and took it
That punch, then that one, and another
and the pain came.
It seems to like me
and I’m addicted
to it
Until I feel nothing else
but.
I could say I should
have bobbed and weaved
danced and played
with my opponent (s)
Been more of a fighter
than just a bag.
I could say a lot but
I can’t because my
lip is swollen shut
So I am waiting for it to heal
Then we’ll see
what I’ll say.

Now – A Poem

Ahug

Now~

Embracing the fear
The thrill
The escape
Adrenaline rush
Skin warming
You
Your body
Wanted
Must have
Now
No waiting
Whos watching
Who may watch
I dont fucking care
Just bend over
Now

She Said – A Poem

whisper-408482_640
She said ~
She said,
I am sick of crying….
I am sick of dying
inside
a little every day
and every night
because life
likes to throw
so much shit my
way
and I cant cope
as I try to lay all the lines
straight
and they just
become entangled
all the more.
Choices come cheap
she said.
If you allow them in
Chances can be taken
when you just jump
Change can happen
with but a whisper
of want conveyed.
So she said.

October – A Poem

October ~

Warms winds turn cold…
as the leaves turn a
bright gold,
then fall.

Wind and Leaf comingle
and do a dance
under a harvest moon
while everyone sleeps.

The old magic has returned

Can you feel it?

A crackle of electricity in
the air flows, as a tingle
draws the hair
away from skin.

Breathe it in….all the dark
sins, laid dormant
come up from their slumber
for their is unrest in them

Dare you walk the night?

Things lurk you know.
Eyes open, grins wide
Waiting in the woods for
you to simply walk
on by.

Your heart feels the thrill
Its a knowing, deeper than
a dried out old well,

October, one of my best friends
has finally come home.

“Get busy living or get busy dying”

“Get busy living or get busy dying”  – quote from Shawshank Redemption
One of my favorite characters in a movie said that…
How many of us have held back?
All because of some fear.
Nothing more, nothing less
Fear of the unknown, of failing, of not fitting in,
Playing the fool
Not looking cool.
Not being the smartest one in the group
with nothing to lend to the conversation
worthwhile in your own eyes.
Living for them
Living for something that might never come
Passions pushed so far down
that you don’t even know that they
are there.
Desires wrapped tight and buried in the backyard.
Dig them up…
Take your shovel
and go searching for those lost
treasures you think
you seemed to have forgotten about.
Its never too late
to find those riches that
were yours to possess
and spend on your self
in the first place.
To luxuriate in like a
King or a Queen.
Fuck the what-ifs and the unknowns
and the people rolling their eyes
as they see you walk in the room.
Fuck it all.
Because its you,
You,
and that you
only has one life to live
and its yours.

They Call Her

They call her~falling-leaves-in-autumn

They call her autumn
because she
wraps around you
like a flurry of golden leaves
in a whirlwind

You WILL fall for her
simply because her
violent nature demands it
commands it.

A Tempest,
a wild child
which rides lightening
and flashes a grin that
fucking drives you
to your knees

Just try and stand against
the forces within her
and you will be taught
a cruel lesson about
natures full fury
once unleashed.

But autumn she is a beauty
a conundrum
a magical journey
if you be so bold to take it

Be you so bold?
To capture the surreal
and hold it close

Could you ever be so lucky?

Far Away…..

Moon

Far Away ~

In a distant land I travel…

new sounds, new smells, new vistas

to grab the eye…to capture the heart anew

Yet the sun is same, the heat, its  glow,

The moon as it hangs like a bright bauble on a peg in the dark.

all its phases and it meanderings across the sky

the same.

This land, these people, these animals

they are not.

A new mystery, a new way of thinking to be discovered.

Yet the sand feels the same as I grab a fistful of it

and let it run on the wind.

There is an ancient history in it..

you can feel it in each grain that flies

through my fingers to be scattered

to the four corners.

Perhaps a grain will be captured on a thermal updraft,

and reach  heights to carry it across the globe

to  home.

To settle gently at your feet.

In silent company with you.
